Because of the collaborative nature of the space at The Grant, the developers intended to create a community of creatives who can work together with as little overlap as possible – to create a community that does not fall into the trap of worrying about direct competition between themselves. We looked for a mix of businesses and personalities and chose the best among the applicants in order to create an intentional community that will work together to make each individual business better. Here is who signed on to our idea:

Kafe Líla
Karen Pace, owner and head chef. A small cafe with amazing homemade ice cream, coffees, pastries, sandwiches and salads.

A small architecture firm specializing in residential architecture. Focusing on affordable housing project types ranging from new single family houses, additions and renovations to adaptive reuse, historic preservation and multi-family projects.
Milk and Cookies
Milk and Cookies is a gallery/shop. It is our hope to frequently hold neat art shows and offer the fun and interesting products that some of our favorite artists make like t-shirts, comics, zines, totes, stationery, and prints in between.

Dynamo Development/ Go Go Dynamo – Wayne Losey
The Works – Toy design & manufacturing, entertainment concept design & development, experience design and cultural architecture.
Highchairdesignhaus: J Hogue and James Re; design for print and web, specializing in identity and publication design.
Josie Morway: design for print and web, specializing in ephemera and catalog design. Josie is also a well-established curator and painter.
Real Advertising / John Speck
Real Advertising is a full-service ad agency. From creative strategy through deliverables and implementation, we help small- and mid-sized organizations engage with markets to develop the relationships that build a strong brand.
Magma Design Group
Landscape design for commercial and residential projects. Small to medium to large scale projects, with hardscape design and installation as well as full plant specification and care.
Beat Box Studio / Chachi Carvalho and Joel DePina
An independent-artist recording and production studio, as well as coordination of youth after-school programs in local high schools and MCs at local spoken word events and talent showcases.
Hydrogen 2 Foxygen
Women’s clothing boutique, specializing in vintage styles for your inner-pin-up girl.
Flying Shuttles
A retail space selling hand woven rugs and wall coverings, and offering classes in weaving for special needs individuals.

The Training Den
Pet products and Dog Training for all levels and ages by appointment.
