Because of the collaborative nature of the space at The Grant, the developers intended to create a community of creatives who can work together with as little overlap as possible – to create a community that does not fall into the trap of worrying about direct competition between themselves. We looked for a mix of businesses and personalities and chose the best among the applicants in order to create an intentional community that will work together to make each individual business better. Here is who signed on to our idea:

ground level

Strange Famous Records Store (Space 2)
The home of SFR, a label supporting artists such as Sage Francis, B. Dolan and Prolyphic.
Milk and Cookies (Space 3)
Milk and Cookies is a gallery/shop. It is our hope to frequently hold neat art shows and offer the fun and interesting products that some of our favorite artists make like t-shirts, comics, zines, totes, stationery, and prints in between.
Dynamo Development Labs – Wayne Losey & Tucker Johnson (space 4)
Character, product and concept design for entertainment, toys, and video games. New business development – product design, project management, consumer strategy and cultural fit.
TJason Photography – Tim Balfour (Space 5)
Portrait and nature photography.
Highchair designhaus (Space 6)
J Hogue and James Re; design for print and web, specializing in web, identity and publication design.
Michelle Gallagher, LMHC (Space 7)
Liscensed Mental Health Counselor for families, couples, and individuals.
EDM Entertainment (Space 8)
Recording studio and production facility.
Magma Design Group (Space 9)
Landscape design for commercial and residential projects. Small to medium to large scale projects, with hardscape design and installation as well as full plant specification and care.
Frank Murphy, AIA (Space 10)
An architecture firm specializing in residential architecture. Focusing on affordable housing project types ranging from new single family houses, additions and renovations to adaptive reuse, historic preservation and multi-family projects.
Megan Andelloux and The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (Space 11)
Megan is a Certified Sexuality Educator, focusing on numerous aspects of the world of sexuality. Her mission in life is to bridge the gap between the medical and the pleasure centric models of sexuality and to do this in a sex-positive and sassy, yet professional manner.
Flying Shuttles (Space 12)
A studio, gallery, and retail shop that supports the creative abilities of artists and weavers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Strange Famous Records Office (Space 2)
The office of SFR and online orders shipping center.
Blackstone Chess Academy (Space 3)
Tournaments, open plays, and simulcast events of local and global competitions in the chess world.
401 Local (Space 4)
Poster design and silkscreen printing for apparel and posters by John Hunter.
Skidder Design (Space 4)
Poster design and silkscreen printing by Uncle Pete.
Ghost Town (Space 4)
Poster design and silkscreen printing by Pete Cardoso and Darren Johnson.
Circuit BMX (Space 5)
BMX shop with rider/proprietor Victor Bettancourt. Full service BMX repairs and builds, components and apparel.
Beat Box Studio / Chachi Carvalho and Joel DePina (Space 6)
An independent-artist recording and production studio, as well as coordination of youth after-school programs in local high schools and MCs at local spoken word events and talent showcases.
